My daughter and I raise Kiko and Boer goats on the eastern edge of the Kansas Flint Hills. She and I had never raised animals before, except for pets. Now we raise meat goats and our herd consist of approximately 175 goats. This meat goat raising project was started because of an invasive plant, Sericea Lespedeza. It was either spray every year or raise goats to control it. We opted for goats and we are glad we did.
